Murals to be designed for Wilson Library - A first for Wilson!
The Wilson Area Arts Council (WAAC) is supporting Wilson High School Librarian Linda Campillo's vision to make the library a more artful and creative space. The Library is the biggest and most used "classroom" on the Wilson Campus, but the space is not inviting as the walls are mostly off-white. Librarian Campillo is spearheading a project, in conjuction with the Wilson Art Department to use Wilson art students to create murals to fill the empty wall-space in the Library. Your money for supplies will go to more than just paint. Wilson art students will be participating in a juried public art competition. Wilson art teacher Susan Parker will be using the Wilson public art process, as part of the project curriculum.
Please join with WAAC to raise money for this exciting undertaking and support the goal of filling the walls of the Library with creative expression that mirrors a space of reading, reflection and learning.
